Expectations, expectations, expectations.
Life is full of expectations.
When you are born into this world and develop a life of your own, you are constantly burdened with responsibilities. To imagine how much the superstars or sports celebrities have to shoulder responsibility and meet up to high expectations, all I can say, it is quite a sad thing for them.
I hate expectations.
Imagine you are a nobody, and you suddenly played very well in a soccer match. Many people turned their eyes on you, having a good impression. But imagine Rooney, Ronaldinho, Beckham or those famous big names, if they played like crap or even not up to standard or in extreme cases not at their peak, people will slate them like nothing. Its fucking retarded how people put so high hopes on a player and blame him like fuck if things don't go as planned.
A recent example I've encountered, not too long ago. I've created a decent video in terms of video editing and filming, at least to a standard that I'm happy with. I did get compliments of how well the video turned up, and of course I feel good (who doesn't...). The reason why the video turned up that well was because I've took plenty of time editing and brushing everything up, experimented and explored camera movements or finding a suitable place or idea for timelapses and blahblahblah. Now do you think I can do the same for every video?
Of course I owned the camera and I have direct and fast access to the clips, so of course I'll do the editing. I make videos often, but everyone got to admit making good videos are not easy. How do I possibly make people's showreels, jam videos, etc., all as good as a video then I've spent time planning for? What if the person who edited the video wasn't me, then I think most people will go "WOW NICE EDITING BITCHIES". This is because people expect so much.
Expectations are crap, they are overrated.
Never get your hopes too high on something. Only thing you get in return is disappointment, and whole loads of crap to spill out of your mouth after that.
Parents expect their childrens to do better then them, and their grandchildren to be better then their childrens, and blah and blah. That is why Singapore's education and worklife is so hell competitive and life can be a bitch to stay here. I tell you the next olympics if Usain Bolt does not get gold medals, or break records, his headlines will be full of negative opinions and shit.
You have to live up to expectations, though. Because this is life.
Once one person did not meet certain expectations, his reputation will be tarnished.
People just expect too much. Even you. And me.
Don't expect so much from this blog.
