I pity maids...
They come all the way to Singapore and work almost their life here. At least from around the age of 20+/- to 30+. Not being able to meet their family, only can meet their 'friends' once in a while on their off days. It is worst then migrating to another country to study (obviously). What's more if they are unlucky and they get some bullshit employer, life will be twice as burdensome. And as usual everyday wake up early sleep late, work all day round.

The saddest thing yet is when they have to leave because their contract is timed out or the employer doesn't want/need her anymore, then she have to adapt to a different employer. Then have to start all over again, with different rules and expectations. And of course it is heart-wrenching to see herself leaving the employer's family as you know she have already worked for a long time.

I swear I'm not gonna hire a maid when I have my own family next time.
