Today was a weekday break which was spent pretty alrightly well I guess.

First off we went to the beach! It was particularly hot today at 38degrees-ish and that was actually cool as the past few days were not summer at all... Despite the hot sun it doesn't make you sticky like Singapore, and you just need a dip in the seawater and you'll be fine again! If I do this everyday I'll be tanned in no time.

Next I finally met up with future roommate Hatta, with a very important goal of settling our accomodation. However, some of the apartments we were eyeing was already sold (soooo wasted), and we were settling for 2nd choices which really weren't that attractive. Either that or it's in a shitty location or just too much for our budget. Soooo hard to find good accommodation and I'm really feeling bummed about this.

Having the right accomodation is really the make or break of my trip, then again I cannot just foolishly commit to a high weekly price as I'll have to be paying that every week for a year. Honestly, I have such high expectations for a sick ass cozy apartment where we can do weekend chillz, but in life you can't have everything... You gotta make do.

Then I met up with old army friend Weeyang, first Singaporean I met whilst I'm here... Ranted to him about my accomodation pains while he treated me to some sick ice cream gelato (sadly I wasn't stoned... Lol).

Either ways... This apartment will have to be happening and settling that will still be first priority. And I'll throw a sick house warming party when the time's right! So stoked about this.

Seems like I'm going on a road trip this Friday and doing all these random adventuring stuff (I actually thought that joining the Swinburne Explorer's Club would be a cool way to meet people and actually do sick hiking and camping!). Really stoked to do all kinds of travelling now that I know how much time I have to do this (definitely not at the expense of school/too much money tho).

Part of the reason why I chose this overseas is mainly for self-improvement. There are so many life skills I'm lacking and I really want to work on it. Driving, camping/hiking (hardly ever done this cos Singapore sucks (field camp doesn't count)), swimming (cliff divessss), cooking, and general talking and meeting people... It's like a learning journey this coming months and right now I'm still pretty holiday mood as it everything is still all over the place so my #MelbzLyfe hasn't really set in yet.

Last night we watched Planet Earth's Ocean Deep while stoned. Can't wait to be watching dope shows on my lazy weekend nights on my sick new TV in my new living room and be marvelled by life's simple pleasures.
